W&M Kendo Invitational a huge success!

I'd like to thank everyone who came and participated at the 2004 W&M Kendo Invitational this past weekend. Everything went smoothly except for a few minor glitches and I think all participants enjoyed themselves. If anyone has any comments or feedback as to how the tournament could have run smoother, please post. Hopefully we'll be able to do this again next year, but I don't want to think about that until the dust settles after this tournament. But again, thanks to everyone who came!

I think next time there should be two 3rd places because that's how it is at all the other tournaments.. also maybe you guys could invite some high-ranking sensei to be judges next time

We're definitely going to have two 3rd places next year. This year we had no idea what all the expenses were going to be so decided to play it safe. But now that we've gotten our feet wet, we should be able to do better next time and attract higher ranking Senseis to judge. Hey, for a free bento, who wouldn't want to come judge ;)

But I'm glad that you all could come down. Next time I'll pit the W&M team against you, though you'd probably beat us.

Yeah I'll see you at GW. I know how you feel about the men, at Yale they gave a men point that didn't hit me and it cost us 2nd and possibly 1st place in teams. This time I got a good do in the match for 3rd but they gave a men to the other person that was from behind and was hitting the back of my head. Oh well... can't expect great judging in college tournaments.. and yeah I'm UVA taisho.
