Has anyone used this Eguchi bogu? I looked around the various threads regarding bogu, and found no information really about Eguchi's models such as this one. http://eguchi.net/cart_345machine.htm

If you are inside USA, Eguchi offers the best quality and service!
Their bogu/shinai are all made in japan, quality is superb.

Most of all, their customer service is nothing compare to others

keep in mind that jfluh9 (http://www.kendo-world.com/forum/member.php?u=771) is likely about eguchi a2 set, which costs 1400$, and you are talking about a3 set - 600$. thats the BIG difference! :)
a3 set is interesting for me too, but it looks like i'll order koei bogu, eguchi a3 has a basic fiber do, as i understand, while koei - yamato do.
but - if you oreder a3 set from eguchi - please write about it here!

Are you getting that Koei from Bogubag? I have also been looking at their sets. If not, where from?

not :( i have some things from bogubag, but not bogu. now i have old cheapest bogu, which is 3 ears old, and i'm thinking to replace it with the new better one later this year - looks like it would be eguchi or koei mid class

Eurobogu (http://eurobogu.net/) also source Koei stuff. If you're in Europe it's a good option. I've used them a couple of times and am happy.

Streetcleaner,

I ordered bogu from Eurobogu last year, and a new hakama early this year. I had quick replies to all my mail enquiries, except one (and there was a reasonable explanation for that). Moreover, the orders came quick - within 3 weeks of ordering and I was informed of the process.

Can't say at all about how often the site is updated.

Hope this helps.

thats even more strange if they ok! both bogubag and eurobogu sells koei's bogu, but the 'kendo-world dream bogu' s22 is 1200$ on bogubag and nearly 2700$ on eurobogu! very strange

i calculated 2127 USD for this bogu (with an exchange rate from yesterday). if you don't live in europe it makes no sense either way to order at eurobogu.
the price difference may be explained because (by? ahh these prepositions *sigh*) eurobogu's sale prices have VAT AND shipping costs already included.
i haven't calculated that but maybe you would like to? :)

well they didn't reply to my emails (maybe they thought they were too stupid to answer ;p)
3 weeks? for hakama? ;_; ahh i want them NOW :(

(damn it - how do i make this crying smilie???)

sure. bogubag shipping cost is 90$, so the total cost will be 1200+90=1290. i think shipping cost will not be much larger to europe - bogu bag send their stuff to europe from japan, not from usa. so the shipping cost is not larger than eurobogu. thats not the 2100. and the price is 2100 euro - thats 2700$ here in russia.

additionally you have to add russia's VAT-percentage to the 1290 USD (don't know how high your VAT is).
the price for the bogu is 1680EURO=2100USD.

BTW i don't want to defend eurobogu here - just wanted to shed a little light on their pricing-scheme. :)

ahhh :) well thought a S would be a G ;). of course - 1680EURO is for the G-22 set.
VAT, well how to explain that? VAT= value added tax. maybe you know a russian-english dicitonary?
maybe bogubag has VAT included too - but i don't think so. i've been on their site right now but (as always) it says nowhere if their price includes VAT or not... (or i can't find it)
sorry that i can't help you :(

I've ordered from Eurobogu several times and I was quite pleased. Responses were quick and delivery times were around 1 week.
