I have been researching the use of nodachi/odachi/zanbatou (just out of interest) and came across a style called Nodachi Jito Ryu. It was only mentioned by name as being listed in a book; I assume it uses longer swords (as Choken Battojutsu Kageryu), but there is no other information about this. I would be grateful for any information you may have on this.

If you haven't seen it yet, check out http://www.bunbun.ne.jp/~sword (http://www.bunbun.ne.jp/~sword) (the site run by Colin Hyakutake-Watkin) and Koryubooks.com under his author heading for more info. There are nice pictures of nodachi (called zanbatou/cavalier killer)and a description in Japanese on this site: http://www.kamakuranet.ne.jp/~sankaido/list.htm (http://www.kamakuranet.ne.jp/~sankaido/list.htm) (the listings are in Japanese though)
I hope this information is of some use.

Huh....now I've heard of Nodachi Jigen Ryu, allegedly founded by Yakumaru Kanemune. (I say 'allegedly' as in, I don't know, rather than to question the validity of the founder or school, in case anyone gets offended ^_^)

If anyone has any input, please feel free to add it.
Thanks

Thanks for the plug guys.
I get so many hits sometimes I am out of bandwidth and redirect it through sword.shorturl. This mirrors the real site at http://www.hyoho.com. I am changing host soon and expect no further problems.
