Hello:
I was training with my sensei and he lent me his shinai. It's a monster!!
He brought it with him from Japan. It's not a 39 but a 41. It's much heavier than mine.
I would like to buy one for me, for training arm strenght, but I can't find one for sale on the internet, and neither I nor my sensei have any plans to go to Japan on the short term.
Does anyone know any online store that sells them?

this one has 1,5kg - is that heavy enough for you? ;)
btw i don't recommend buying from kendoshop here - it's just the website that came first to my mind.

isn't that just fir suburi's, I don't see how you can do any waza with, nor would the motodachi look forward to getting hit.
maybe seme would be easier, cause you can creat one hell of a center with it :D

It's a pack of 6 shinais, for a total of 1,5 kg's (that's 250 gr. each).
EDIT: Hum... sorry, maybe I am the one who is wrong.... I'll send a mail today to clear this out

Hey jcpr,
A suburito is a bokuto (wooden katana) that is much larger, and so it is used to build strength during suburi.

I think the '6 parts' means it has 6 takés

I think the '6 parts' means it has 6 takésyup, think so too. quote kendoshop.com: "Because it is made by 6 pcs of bamboo, it is heavier than others. So it is helpful to strengthen your arm¡¯s power."
