OK Dr A, so you might have gotten a spambot interested in going (if he has any free time)...

Wish I could go. I'm very interested in the discussion around Budo and education, and finding out whether there is anything more to it than Nihonjinron-ist fluffiness. I know there is a great deal of potential in the discussion, and would love to be a part of it. I'm just a bit far away and, well, busy trying to make Budo-in-Education work.

The other reason I would love to go is to make links with other, like-minded educators. Oh, and the chance to try a few other budo. That would be cool.

FWIW I attended this last year and it is a really interesting seminar, trying othr Budo is very fun and from the kendo side, there are a number of high ranked sensei there and almost no lines! When Makita sensei would go to the IBU keiko, the lines for him were absurd, yet here you could get in with only 5 people in a line tops.

I attended twice and it was educational; and a chance to meet others and try other budo. Food was good and one
could specify vegetarian. Dunno these days. (a bit of a hassle getting there but people did find their way; accommodations were nice)

BTW, the first time I wasn't living in Japan but I was accepted anyway.
