hey, dont know if anyone has mentioned http://www.ninecircles.co.uk/

they have a very good selection of Kendo gear, whilst they are not the cheapest, they are a real pleasure to deal with.

hope this helps ;¬)

I'll second that, I've bought all my gear from ninecircles and haven't had any trouble with them whatsoever. The shinais from them (ikken dobari/ oval grip ikken dobari) have lasted me since about september, both have a great balance.

For custom shinais I think www.e-bogu.com is the place to look.

Dobari at Nine Circles are very good and you get very good service, you may want to check eurobogu(not in England though) as well as they are very good on price.

Seeing that you are a beginner who couldn't tell the difference between a good shinai and crap, you can buy any old shinai.
If you must spend a lot of money for personal fulfillment, pay me 700 pounds Sterling. I will mail you one quality shinai.

why do you constantly feel you have to put down begginers intersest and passion for kendo with inane and frankly arrogant comments . Perhaps you worry over how good YOU REALLY ARE. Dont bother replying to any of my posts again !

Oh my goodness, "inane".... "frankly arrogant"... maybe if you could spell beginners correctly, I wouldn't find the need to reply to your post... again.

Basically, you are not interested in kendo but more interested in owning expensive things in kendo. It doesn't make you any better but it's like you feel you can progress up the popularity charts in your dojo if you have expensive and fancy equipment.

Phil H, just ignore Hai-hai. He doesnt even practice kendo and is just here to get attention with his silly posts.

Nine Circles is where the Glasgow club gets their gear from. Im sure its same for most of the other UK clubs.
