For those who knew/spoke to Yamantaka, with deep sadness i read this thread on e-budo from his son. Yamantaka (Ubaldo Castilho de Alcāntara) died on Sept. 6th following a heart attack.

There is also this thread of tributes from other e-budo members

Wish my first post was on a cheerier topic.

Hey, thanks, Lyra. I am really bummed out about this, but bless you for bringing it up. Here's to him.

Indeed, from the posts I've read at e-budo, he seemed like a good man. My condolences to his son Renato and family.

Hows things?
I have sent an email on here to you about this.
Ubaldo Castilho de Alcāntara Sensei and I had been writing to each other for some time now.
I will sadly miss a man with a friendly, honest, upright spirit. A great loss to Budo
