Hi,
I'm wondering...is there anyway where we can petition to have the ZNKR put the awesome kendo instruction videos on DVD?
Specifically, I'm referring to Kendo Basics 1,2,3, Kendo Kata, Seitei Iai, and Jodo series of 6 tapes.
:D

Not really a kendo topic but DVD is not as hot in Japan as in the West, I believe. The technology is obviously in Japan but the standard of living in households do not promote the advancement of DVD format as is does in Western Countries. However, things are changing rapidly.
On the downside, organizations like ZNKR will be slow to adapt. My suggestion: Get one of those hot PSX consoles and burn a DVD!
I had the same problem. I wanted DVD's to practice kata for my shodan test. But I don't own a VCR. But my friend had one of those hot PSX consoles...

Hi guys,
Anyone have copies of these DVDs from AJKF?
The reason I ask is this, I don't know if they are region free or region 2.
Thanks!

They have a whole bunch of kendo dvds and videos. Including competitions, kata demos etc....a bit expensive tho.

The ZNKR already have many DVD's, but the older stuff has not yet all been converted. They are region free NTSC.
You could always buy the VHS version and convert it or ask your national federation to organise it.

The AJKF Kendo Instructional videos 1, 2, & 3 have been up for grab for some time, if you have e-Mule pier-to-pier downloader. Somehow the full color versions of vol. #2 & #3 cannot be downloaded to completion, Same with vol #3 black & white. It looks like the piers you can download them from removed or renamed the files from their shared folders.
