SCIA Fall 2004 Iaido Seminar and Shinsa

Hi everyone,

The Southern California Iaido Association (SCIA) will be hosting an iaido seminar and shinsa on Saturday, October 23, 2004 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Norwalk Kendo Dojo in Norwalk, California. The seminar will focus on the Zen Ken Ren (Zen Nippon Kendo Renmei) seitei iai kata. Muso Shinden Ryu iaido may also be covered if time and space permits. The head instructor will be Takeshi Yamaguchi sensei (7 dan renshi iaido) assisted by Ichiro Murakami sensei (5 dan iaido) and Henry Asai sensei (5 dan iaido).

This is just a reminder that the pre-registration deadline is Friday, October 1, 2004. Applications for the seminar and shinsa will still be accepted up to Saturday, October 23, but the seminar fee will increase to $35 after October 1.

Hi everyone,

It is my pleasure to inform you that Tatsuhiko Konno sensei, 7 dan iaido, from the PNKF will attending the SCIA Iaido Seminar and Shinsa in a few weeks as a guest instructor. Konno sensei will also be sitting on the examination panel and as a result, candidates eligible for sandan and below may test.
