My club publishes a monthly newsletter, but thats as far as I have seen anything specifically for iaido. Kendo World do some good articles, (so buy it...), but after that I would struggle as the other stuff I see in the Japanese versions of above magazine tend mainly to be one off articles about certain teachers or ryu histories. There is a bit of stuff on the net, but most of this is at a basic guideline level and fails to have enough detail to hold the attention. Books also are few and far between in English, and again are either skimming the surface or you also need to study with that style to benefit. I would recommend 'Lives of master swordsmen', recently republished in softback, as an interesting read, as also perhaps 'Armed martial arts of Japan'. It all depends what specific area or ryu you are interested in. Try this site for iaido books...

Hi!

There is also the website named "The Iaido Journal." (sometimes also called "The Iaido Newsletter.")

Please go here to see:
