At my dojo, we practice the Jo kata somewhat irregularly. My sensei provided a text description of the kata, along the lines of:

1. Tsukizue - After bow, uke goes to segan adn jo rests on floor...

A few of the kata are still difficult to remember. Does anyone know of a good source for illustrations of the Shindo Muso Ryu Jodo kata?

Thanks!

Well there are plenty of illustrated SMR books, you can get them from:

http://www.budogu.com/

or

http://www.buyubooks.com/

to name a few.

Online, try Jodo (http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Pagoda/8187/Jodo.htm) and Jo Kata (http://www.geocities.com/nobaradojo/Jokatas.htm). A general place to go is Shelby: Budo - Jodo Links (http://www.shelby.at/budo/jodo.html).

For a manual, also try Seidokai Training Manuals (http://sdksupplies.netfirms.com/cat_manual.htm).
