Try Sehyun the first link :) they speak English and their Bougu is very good!
They also mark the price down when sending it to you ;) I paid less than £30 import tax on my suit.
Oh and South Korean Won.

koreans generally do not consider the UK politically a seperate country, we tend to generalise them with the US..

damn the shinai on that thing are expensive.. (well compared to korean ones anyway)
i am buying a shoto soon for 6 euros/dollars (god knows wat ill use it for.. self defence, use it as a mini kendo version)

cool :) What do you think of the quality of Korean bogu compared to E-bogu etc?

mystic_kendoka

depends on how much ur paying,

if u pay $1000 for a bogu from a japanese/US company
and if u pay $1000 for a korean bogu, the korean will be much better

most bogu the japanese companies sell are imported from korea anyway, and then taxed and profit added..

Most of e-bogu stuffs are from Korea but most of the Kendo stuffs ( either from Korea or Japan ) are made in China ( Either Korean Material or Japanese material - For example, Kumdoshop has 4 different shinais - top one is Japanese Bamboo, the second one is Korean Bamboo the other two are Chinese bamboo - all are made in China ). Anyway, if you write them in English, they'll respond in English - may not be perfect and maybe little bit slow but they do respond. Some ( like Sehyun ) doesn't accept credit card but they'll ship to any country.. I have a bogu set from Kumdoshop ( 1.2 bu ) which I am very happy with the quality and price.

Dear Commander, not against to anybody's experienced advice here but I posted that web address of boguya to Kenshinsan before because he was looking for a US$300-$350 bogu set. I'm very sure that they wouldn't mind shipping your order to even overseas because you will pay for the shipping anyway. You just need someone to order for you and explain where to send. That was the reason why I recommended Kenshinsan to ask someone who can speak Korean.I agree to what Mystic_kendoka said "if u pay $1000 for a bogu from a japanese/US company and if u pay $1000 for a korean bogu, the korean will be much better". Depends on where you live or where you want have your bogu to delivered, the shipping cost will be different but I paid about 100.000 Korean won for super fast and safe EMS-10kg (only took 4days from Korea to Australia). Just ask them to do check everything properly before they send so you don't happen to get any faulty item. I bought my bogu from Samshin who neither have web site nor email address but they were very happy to send my bogu to Australia with lots of gifts in the parcle....even with good amount of discount since I troubled myself to visit them from Australia.:cheeky: Sorry, Samshin do have their website which is linked to the Korean social kumdo website but all it has is an image of nice bogu....nice bogu.:ponder:

Wow, that was nice of them. How much did you spend? Usually, a high spender, like maybe a rich-boy show-off, gets comped.

lies, all lies.

It seems that the North Korean leader Kim Jong-il was busy indulging on his appetite while the North Korean people were suffering from starvation, according to the Los Angeles Times on Saturday. The LAT published a "Column One" story under the headline "Rich Taste in a Poor Country," depicting Kim's picky appetite by saying that Kim likes to eat sashimi carved from a live fish and hates anchovies on his pizza.
Two of Kim’s former chefs have written up their experiences and revealed the secrets of the most important part of any Kim Jong Il residence, which is the kitchen. Three years ago, Italian Ermanno Furlanis wrote a series of confessional magazine articles titled "I Made Pizza for Kim Jong Il." A more recent entry is a book published last year in Japan and South Korea by a sushi chef Kenji Fujimoto (57). who worked for Kim from 1988.

LAT pointed out that, “While his countrymen scrounge for food in barren forests, Kim has spent an incalculable chunk of his nation's limited wealth feeding himself.” The article revealed that Kim has a storage of almost 10,000 bottles of wine in his wine cellar and his library contains thousands of cookbooks. Chefs have been flown from all over the world to suit his appetite.

It also said that there is an institution in Pyongyang, consisted of the best-trained doctors in the country, devoted solely to developing not only delicious but healthy food for Kim. "The purpose of the institute is 100% to prolong the life of Kim Jong Il," said Seok Young Hwan, a physician who worked there and later defected to South Korea. He said 200 professionals were working just in the division that handled Kim's diet

Kenji Fujimoto also wrote in his book that he had to travel to Iran and Uzbekistan to buy a particular kind of caviar, to Denmark for pork, to western China for grapes and to Thailand for mangos and papayas.
