Well, good job, Kendo World. In the editorial in Issue 3, I think the KW folks did a pretty good job of staying apolitical while presenting the facts concerning the World Kumdo Association's drive to incorporate, affiliate, and make kendo/kumdo - possibly a hybridized version - an Olympic sport. KW was polite about it (although I think we can tell how the editors feel) but we forum-lurkers don't have to be polite about it.

How do you really feel?

In my opinion, if kendo becomes an Olympic sport, it will be to the detriment of the art. No question. This will be a sad day and I think the IKF perhaps should try to block the WKA from this.

Charlie, you might try trawling through the older parts of the forum for threads on this topic. It is a subject that forum members have been known to stoush about in the past.
