I heard an interesting bit of news today. the famous Shaolinn Monks are seeking to trademark their name as it is becoming increasingly difficult for them to travel with their "exhibitions" (for want of a better phrase) due to breaching trademarks.
Their name has been mis-used and abused by the fast buck companies on Beer cans , T-shirts etc and most shockingly cigarettes:surprise: , just to name a few. Good luck to them I say!I hope the monks get their trademark and use it well.
I missed them last time they were in Australia.
has anyone seen them?
cheers Michael

Unfortunately the Shaolin Temple will never be the way it was a couple decades ago. Its really ashame that it is very commercialized. A lot people go and visit the temple just for name sake. Their village really cashes out on there fame - stuff from Shaolin t-shirts to firing an AK Shaolin machine gun. Yeah its really really bad - fortunately though they have closed a section off (in the temple) from the public so that they can practice. The monks of today are no match for the monks back in the day. You can thank communist China and movie media for that.
