Hi,
I have a pair of Sune-ate from Eurobogu.net, but they are a little small for me. They have never been used in anger, but I have practiced footwork whilst wearing them.
They look as they did when they were delivered.
6pc bamboo - leather finish
Size Large
The picture link below shows the style.

I have been asked how tall I am, to see if they would fit someone else.
I'm 6ft 2inches tall and on my shin they are about an inch and a half too short.
I'll measure the sune-ate length tonight.
cheers

Hi
Hmm most people in europe have sune ate that dont cover the knee though.
I am 1.83m (6 ft) and my sune ate are 43 cm and I am very happy with them.
So I am wondering what makes them too small.
very big sune ate is a very big target eh ;)

cya,
Mine do not cover the knee...
So is this acceptable???
I was wondering from both a saftey and rules basis?

I have never heard an occasion where it was an issue.
ofcourse it is safer to have protection.
But the same counts for your feet.
It is a fact that you will be hit on the legs and feet
during practice when you do naginata.
It is up to you to say if it is acceptable or not.
it is your own safety.

Gomen Nasai. In support of Berghaan-sempai's explanation ....
At the beginner's seminar at San Jose, the sensei talked about sune-ate. The consensus was, if you have to make a choice between covering the knee or covering the ankle, tie the sune-ate low to cover the ankle.
And if necessary, supplement the sune-ate with a knee pad under the hakama to cover the knee, but not so thick a one as to prevent proper han-mi.

according to thier site 153 euros converts to £94 or $136.
I'm flogging my sune-ate for 82 euros - £50 - $72

Kote have to be a within a certain size range.. thats why I asked.

Emit, why don't you try E-bay? The last few things I sold there got snapped up in only afew days on 'Buy it now' :D. Maybe there will be some Naginataka that is looking for some. It's much better than asking here...
