This has got to be one of the vainist posts, but...

I recently bought a white oak bokken from e-bogu and I really love this bokken compared the the others I've had before. From experience I know that if I use raw or procesed lisine oil my bokken will change color, my caoba bokken got a nice dark, rich red tone and my "encino" (sorry, don't know how to say it in english, I believe it's a red oak) bokken also got a shade red darker and that's something I want to avoid unless it's absolutly necesary. So anyone has any idea?

Actually tung oil is better then linseed oil. it tends to combust for one if left in a cloth or such, also, tung oil is just better, it creates a hard shell, and will make the wood a littler stronger, not to mention locking in moisture and not letting the wood dry out, tung oil, get it, it's the best. Mineral oils stay wet, not even close to as good, used it years ago, tung oil is better then these others.
