hello, can all of u help me?I want to what's the difference between the kendo in the old era then now?In tradition or cutting, both of them if all of u have the answer.Because my sensei once said that Do cut that we do were different, the cut were from the neck to the opposite side of that person stomach diagonally,it had to be change since in shiai there is no protection around the neck because bogu doesn't cover that part. Can all of u help me?

well.. the kendo we do now, is safe and fun kendo, the kendo they did before was practice for war, so it was rougher, less safe, but more realistic, what we do now is softer not tht realistic swordsmanship
The old style of kendo had an element of street fighting in it, with throws and tripping people and other stuff like that. some friends of mine and I found a book with explanations and pictures of techniques that were very vicious and quite dangerous.

they used to use real sword back then. bogu was not yet invented in the old days and if it was already invented, it wasn't that protective yet.
