stick kendo!!??

hey i was seeing tv the other night and i came across this french martial art called the "la canne au combat"

and i was surprised to see this guys look very alike to a kendoka, just taking out the hakama and the mens flaps:

however they do mostly flashy stuff and try to distract the opponent with whirly movements

when i saw a vid on tv.........well, these guys look like jedis or something, and no matter how long i searched, i couldnt find a site with videos or something, just photos.....i guess it must be a very local thing......

The webpage says its Escrime with a walking stick.
Btw France is good at Escrime, but you already know that sport right ? If not, do a quick search and you'll find these thin guys in white bogus :P lol

the same way the call kendo japanese fencing, cause the world being europealized and all, but just like the combat canne, i dont think it would be a branch of escrima, just as kendo is not considered a branch of escrima.

i dont think it would be a branch of escrima, just as kendo is not considered a branch of escrima.It come from french boxing. Sport where you could use our feet and your hands to fight.
In was at quite common sport in France before the WW I.

erm.........yes i searched with key words, and yes i had found those pages already, what i cant still find is downloadable canne fighting videos, competitions training programs etc etc etc.
thats what im looking for, ive found already tons of pics and tons of sites including those, and although i dont know much french, i tried to search the pages throughly, and i found nothing there (if im mistaken and there are actually downloadable videos in those pages please forgive me and point me to them,)

I believe that this is actually a form of savante the only true frnch martial art. There is an unarmed form and an armed one. I haven't checked but searching google for savante may bring up what you need. Happy hunting.

I saw that on tv aswell...i think savate was the kick boxing aspect...and the cane stuff was something else
