When i was about 16, my brother accidently hit me in the head with a throwing star (it was one of those ones you get at a flea market, not sharpened but would stick into drywall and soft wood), it bounced off my skull, and it definitely bled a lot, I had to tell my dad i fell out of tree so we wouldn't get in trouble

Stars do not have a digging effect when thrown. If that were real, then stitches wouldn't be the only thing needed to be done, but fracture to the bone that the star penetrated.
Another note, when you sustain an injury like that, you don't tense your muscles in your hands like shown. It hurts more.
Fun picture, but not real.

When I was younger (early nineteen eighties)I went to a Dojo that "supposedly" trained Ninjas. The "Sensei" was strutting around telling the crowd of would be Ninjas that he could kill anyone of them using anything they carried. Her told them to pull out stuff from their pockets ,jackets etc. one guy pulled out a pack of cigarettes from his jacket. the Sensei said " I could kill you with that packet!" A voice from the back said " They'll kill him anyway , it might just take a bit longer though".
The sensei went red , the crowd laughed , the Dojo didn't last too much longer as I remember.lol:wink: :)
cheers Michael

He was wearing Ninja Gi , with a black belt , hard to see due to the beer gut over it. A bit of a "verandah over the workshop" as they say:wink: :) .

lol no he had on the pants ...thank God! and the black high top Tabi. All a tad scary :)
After only just beginning Iaido , I can see so much of what he was doing was SOOOOOOOOOOo wrong. From how his "ninja" sword was held ( in hand and belt) to his attitude. Amazing what a good education can get you!
cheers Michael

was the 'ninja' sword a straight sword or just a black katana?
