in the next few days there will be a tournament presented live on the link up.
Now it is the Judo tournament but I think tomorrow will start the girls kendo tournament.

Its the second biggest tournament in importance for the High Schooler in Japan after the All Japan inter-Hi. So very high level of kendo !

can you also tell me what those numbers at the right side tell? i'm guessing they're tv channels.

the numbers on the right are the court's number. In the earlier rounds there should be like 10 courts playing at the same time. There is so many teams competeting its incredible, most of them being of kyushuu area. On top of the 10 number there is a bigger butons, if you click on it you get a view of the whole tournament.

I dont know about the time , too lazy to make the time conversion :O

This tournament is actually a bit different than other kendo team tournaments. The winner stays. Which means that if the senpo (1st player on the team) wins 5 matches in a row the other team loses. In case of a hikiwake its like if both player loses. Add to this that if one guy is found of not going for getting a point they will get hansoku. So the kendo is of a really agressive tempo! Its fun to watch and you can learn lot of cool shiai techniques.

and I say go sendai koukou:D even thought mitsunobu sensei isnt teaching there anymore:(

They are going to have a live-feed to that link above? That is pretty cool. I don't think I have the bandwidth though for a live-feed at any good speed. Anyone gonna save/capture it for the rest of us? Thanks.

taganahan
26th July 2004, 04:55 PM

taganahan
26th July 2004, 05:05 PM
was she the same person in the last 3 matches? i thought they had the same do. as you can tell, i couldn't not even read what their zekken says. yeah she was really good!! i also like the way they do their do. 360 degree do....sweet!

~taganahan

kendokamax
26th July 2004, 05:09 PM
hahah 360 do is kinda lame but they are effective uh

doesnt look like it in a shiai like this but they have super strong basics..

Kirin
26th July 2004, 05:19 PM
1st - Takachiho ( ? )
2nd - Tsurusaki (Ohita)
3rd - Shimabara (Nagasaki)
3rd - Houou (Kagoshima)

Moriya & Aso only made to quarter-final.

the captain of the team that lost was good uh? she won 3 matches in a row or something.
Well Takachiho's senpo Gotoh won 3 matches to start.

ps FYI 45 senpo won 5 matchs "5 nin nuki' (poor team mates) and out of 45, 10 did '10 nin nuki'

Now its boys division.
boys division will be 3 days long....

I think the guy's tournament was suppose to last three days and start yesterday at around ~7pm for CST US. But I wasn't able to get it to load like it did for the girls. The live feed site was active but every time i clicked a court, it would just go blank. Did anyone else have this problem?

kendokamax

not over yet, still 2 days of competition for the guys.

gyokuryuuki tournament is really exciting to watch because of the kachinukisen format! :) takachiho girls team won the senbatsu tournament earlier in the year, so it's quite predictable that they would be successful, in fact, kyushu has the strongest schools in terms of girls' kendo.
i think toin gakuen will win the boys tournament [they are last year's champion] and probably also this year's interhigh in the coming weeks. they dont have any real ace in the team, but they are probably the best, and most efficient team in the tournament. very consistent. kyushu gakuin will give them a run, and the likes of shimabarakou, tokaidai yonkou, nagasaki nanzankou, and sendai ikuei, will get far too. can't wait to see the later results.

i think nishi nippon is a newspaper company. and they just happen to affiliate themselves with the tournament, maybe in a sponsorship role.

kendokamax

Its the last day of the tournament, final should be in about 4 hours or something, but even before that you should check it out now!

The remaining teams are mostly super strong, its time for mitori keiko!!!

i'm a bit surprised that Fukudai ohoori won it, i really thought Toin can't be stopped. i can't believe Toin lost to Kurashiki...and after beating Akita minamikou and Tokaidai yonkou no less.. :confused2
can't wait for interhigh.
