i wonder how he holds the shinai,

and in dog-kendo can you score a hit on the tail?

i'd say so, as long as you bark (kiai)

I bet you that dog wins all the time. Just growling at the opponent would be scary enough. Its such a great laugh that really woke me up at 10:30

Last time I was in Japan, I saw a woman walking round with a short skirt on ..... which was nice........ but the dog was wearing the same skirt and Hat as she was....... probably the height of cool, and I was just too old to understand.

Might have to get the Bogu for my mates dog..... I think a Rotty would look cool in that !!!

I think it doesn't make sense, it's just supposed to look like kanji, but isn't really kanji. ^_^ The doggy didn't want to ruin his true name.

Someone definetly has too much time on their hands, yet I think it was worth a few(ok, it was a bit more than a few) laughs. Even my best friend who has learned to simply nod and say mmhm every so often whenever I talk about kendo was laughing pretty hard. :smiley:

I doubt that dog can bite anyone during shiai...that men is enough to keep him from barking, even! (o_O); hahaha, but that made me life a lot.

That just goes way too far .....when people dress thier dog to go like out on the town you have to wonder....hmmmm...I bet she wipes it's butt too .....lol....blah

I caught my new beagle puppy burrowing through my Kendo bag a while back. She ate a tsuba and was working on my suburito when I caught her. I actually wouldn't have caught her if she hadn't got the bright idea to drag something 3x her size down the stairs. She wasn't very sorry though :disapp:

My cats love kendo!

When my cat was a kitten and very new to my household I returned home to find that he had climbed on top of the TV (where I was airing my men) and fallen asleep in my mengane.

For the next few weeks I was pulling out cat hairs as they tickled my nose!

So - I called that cat 'kenshi'.

I got another kitten later. I came home to find him head first inside my kote with just his tail hanging out. I called this cat 'san- bon' (short for san bon me).

Now I dry my bogu out of cats' way and make sure my bogu bag is zipped up (otherwise they like to go to sleep inside it).

The cats don't mind when I take the usual bags to training - but they get a bit pissed off if I add another bag - they know that means a kendo trip and they are not happy!
