Why do people hate Hai_hai???

Not only is he ACTUALLY a kendoka (unlike trolls such as Daqotah, random mofo etc.) with value to offer this forum, he also has a sense of humour, and a pretty good one at that.

More people should stop taking themselves so seriously, and have a laugh for a frickin' change.

there is a lot of people who are being unhelpful and they don't realize it...at least hai hai does, and he does it with good taste imho.

well...i'm confused by this subject as well...my wife and i rather enjoy seeing what smart alek comment he has to make every now and then...in a forum where everyone is serious, in a world where not much funny stuff happens...you need a good crack up every now and then, not only that but when you look through his wise cracks and comments he does have some valueable information, true i would take the word of my sensei over that of hai_hai, but any voice from experience is a voice to be learned from

I don't think that anybody really "hates" him. I think that it is more of not getting the answer you want from the question you ask. When you look for information, it is hard enough to sift through what is fact and fiction. Sometimes it is a little frustrating to look through a thread and you see something irrelevent when the thread is looking for a serious answer. Hai_Hai's posts are actually quite funny sometimes. It might seem like he is being a jerk, but it's all in fun.

i just love using RBSO's as zokin to wipe the floor of the dojo! you should see thier faces when their new do (with a picture of a dragon, flower, or whatever the heck they put on that ish) has a big scratch on it! It's all about hand me downs!

The people who are bringing down the forum aren't people like hai hai but the supposed know it alls who-have-been-doing-kendo-since-the-debut-of-Kill-Bill-or-The-Last-Samurai that have been giving out bad advice
Just for the record, although I'm new at kendo and also a know-it-all, I got interested after watching RAN in the early '90s, not The Last Samurai in the early '00s. Is that an improvement?

The worst thing about Hai_hai is that you never know what to expect from him. It could be a rant or an insult (see reply to shotoblogger), but then again it could be a serious, useful answer, or really funny, so you can't bring yourself to put him on your ignore list either.

Maybe if you guys would take his example a bit, calm down, and have some fun with it. Half of what he says is done in apparent jest anyway.

He's not sarcastic all the time. In fact he's given me some good advice in the bogu thread, as well as contributing to many other threads. Keep up the good work Hai Hai!
