View Full Version : Piercing?

Here's a strange question:

I got the cartiledge of the upper part of my ear pierced over the weekend, which requires keeping the little hoop ring that they provide in the piercing for 3 months. Unfortunately, putting my men on squishes this like hell and causes a lot of pain, to the point that I didn't practice with men tonight. I didn't think it would be such a problem, as the hoop is very small, but well, it is. Has anyone had to deal with this before or found a solution to it? At worst, I guess I could take the hoop out for practice, but they said clearly to not take it out, so I was looking for an alternative.

Thanks in advance!

i feel ur pain, i had a cardlage piercing awhile ago but i had to take it out because it got infected. My advice is maybe u should take the men off intill it heals a little bit , for now keep on and cleaning it so it won't get infected. Putting the men on can risk the chance of getting it infected , and trust me u don't want that. Also taking it out means it might close up. hope my advice helps. :)

Can you make more room in the men around that area by molding the menbuton? You could try wetting it and making a bulge around the piercing.

If its hot where you're training, though, you might want to take a break for a while to avoid getting it infected, though.

soak some cotton wool in some disinfectant and cover the piercing on both sides of ear for a bit of cushioning, then tape it all up

it might work

Cut a hole in the men-buton where the ear is.

my prince albert gave me some trouble at first but when I stopped wearing tighty whiteys and took up freedom kendo i felt far more comfortable. Moral of the story is give it space until it heals.

theres no easy solution other then to either take the earing out or live with the discomfort, I havent had a earing in my ears in about 2 years between work and kendo, and i had both my ears pierced in the cartilidge plus a few below tried the eye brow thing once too
