This is probably a long shot but.... I studied Shotokan for many years but really would like to take up Kendo. I cant find a Dojo in Aberdeen Scotland. Does anyone know off one?
Love the site and the sensible posts.
Here's hoping

I believe that the only dojo's in Scotland is Edinburgh and Glasgow.
(And this page says the same http://www.kendo.org.uk/dojo/scotland.shtml)

Hey Andy,
One of the Edinburgh members is located in Dundee. He pops down to Edinburgh every so often and pays the occassional visit to Taiseidokai. He is thinking of starting a club with help from us (Edinburgh).
If Dan hasnt given you that info already feel free to email me (george@edinburghkendo.co.uk) and I will put you in touch with him.
Your shot wasnt soooo long after all!
Cheers

Actually there is also a club in Glen Coe as well - not that it's any closer to Aberdeen mind you......

one of my students was up at Perth but he's back home now so you missed out. However Neil Kemp (iaido)(who is mentioned in another thread) visits Elgin irregularly to see relations...thats about as close as you'll get I think...unless you travel to the Isle of Skye where John Hepburn (kendo) lives! Both are 6th dan plus, so I think they'll be more than capable of teaching you something useful!!
Otherwise its back to what passes as civilisation in this country...
