i am changing to a new dojang, but it really is not a dojang its more of a comunnity place where alot of differant classes are taken. Obviouly i am do kumdo as the class but i have a few questions. since this place isn't really a officail dojang, is there still going to be testing there?
Also the teacher told me that i have to be taught to hit the top of the head not the masked part. I was taught to hit the masked part , i am not sure if this is the "correct" way can someone tell me if this is right?

You should ask the teacher there if he is affiliated with the All United States Kendo Federation (AUSKF). If he is then there should not be any problem with testing.
You have to hit the top of the head not the masked part. you should not hit on the middle-back part of the men though. On the front part of the top is correct.
