We train in a school gym, so there is no chance of having a permanent joseki. I've trained in Judo and Aikido, and there was always something there (a picture of Jigoro Kano or Morihei Ueshiba, say) to represent the joseki, and I've seen pictures of others that have calligraphy, or flowers or something. Is there anything that traditionally goes on/in/at a Kendo joseki?
And - hello!! How's it going?

Not all dojos have a Joseki. We practice at two locations. In one there is no Joseki as it is a rented area in a sports centre. The other one is in the Japanese-Mexican school and there is a picture of the Prime minister of Japan and the Prsident of Mexico shaking hands at the inauguration.

Most Japanese training places that aren't in a proper dojo don't have anything.
This one has been discussed before, but out of interest, what do you think the shomen is for? What do you think you're bowing to at the beginning of practice?
