Let's hope that there is only one! Everyone's out to make a quick buck these days. Here is a quote from the website:
"Rick Short is a 5th degree blackbelt and personal fitness trainer. He has studied several arts in his 21 years of training including Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, Ju Jitsu, Jeet Kune Do, and Russian styles."
Does anyone see any sword artform rankings? What is he a 5th degree in? Umm, well sign me up for one of those $14.95 foam bokkens. Why the dragon handle? The hakama pants seem a bit strange to me too....
Thanks DCPan, I needed a good laugh today. Hey, didn't I practice with you before? I was near St. Louis for a while and then in Seattle last year. Do you have a shiny blue dou?

It is very common here in the West to take something respected by many people, pervert for money-making purposes and then try to keep a straight face when you sell it to people. I am sure that this guy is laughing at himself too, but when the money roles in, he will have the last laugh. You would be surprised of how many "people" would be willing to buy this type of goofy thing.
Umm, where are you in Hokkaido?

Well, in that case why are they selling the hakama? Surely it's not needed for a good workout!

Q: What else can I use if I’m not comfortable with the wooden or foam sword?
A: You can use things such as a broomstick or a small hand held weight.
If you’d like to purchase a wooden or foam sword, Click Here.

I held off. I knew it was going to be bad so I resisted the urge to take a peek.
Then curiosity got the better of me. This is one of the most stupid things I have ever seen.

The caption reads,
"The Golf Sensei about to be attacked by Sheila Haddad, Jujitsu Black Belt, at the National Women's Martial Arts Federation Performance in Orlando, Florida."
Can't wait to see the PGA tour even where Sheila jumps out and sends Tiger Woods flying through the air.

Nope, my doh isn't blue...it is the standard black.
I was in St. Louis from 1996 to 1999. There wasn't a kendo place there then.
I did cross the state borders to practice once at a kick-boxing dojo where the instructor was a military person.
Besides that, I introduced some basic kendo stuff to a guy at the volleyball courts of WUSTL and somewhere in Forest Park....
Not knowing who you are, I can't be sure....
Sincerely,
T.Lee

Shouldn't that be called "Ki golf" and not "Kiai golf"? If you want to use your body and mind, that is ki right? I think that kiai golf would be more like a golfer lining up for a drive or a putt and then screaming like a crazyman AAAAAAAAAAAHhhhhhhhhhhh.... when hitting the ball. That would eliminate the need to yell "FOUR" if you are about to hit someone, because using kiai golf, everyone on the golf course will turn your direction, and say "WHAT is wrong with that guy?"
And just for $40, Kiai Golf katas video can be shipped to your door. Umm, what a deal!
Where do you find this stuff?
