Cooooool ippon! Looks like fine katsugi men.
I very much like Harada's footwork.

Yeah looks like a very well timed katsugi men. Harada must have lost concentration at that moment at such a close maai.

Darkluc3, its at the top of the multimedia page, you shouldn't be able to miss it, and there is a link going from the main page of the site.
There were a few tsuki being scored this year, notably Ando, who lost to one.

Actually you could see this coming....Suzuki changes his Kendo around the 8:00 minute mark after Harada strikes that big kote....
If you notice, he goes on the offensive by using strong seme, parrying Harada's attacks and doesn't let Him in...He then keeps Harada on the defensive by backing him up by striking kote several times before going for the large waza....A classic textbook example of "shitakara-ue"

Well observed Matsuda sensei! You're very right indeed!
Could you please elaborate on "shitakara-ue"? Oneigaishimasu!

I noticed that with last years as well..but as they're all fighting at very close distance its not that big a suprise...in general, it's become very messy and not (IMHO) a good advocate for kendo.
