I am a little frustrated never being able to find the right name to describe various techniques. Can anyone sugest a good japaneese-english or japaneese-french kendo dictionary and where it can be purchased?

You mean, like the Japanese/English Kendo Dictionary published by ZNKR?:)
I can't find it on the ZNKR website at the moment, but you can order it from www.ninecircles.co.uk

You can also get it from e-bogu.com (http://www.e-bogu.com/Kendo_Dictionary_p/kok-pub-boo-kendictionary--.htm). Or you can get it direct from the All Japan Kendo Federation, here (http://www.kendo.or.jp/english-page/english-page2/books-and-videos.htm#AKF-IAI) , it's about half way down the page under the heading: Kendo Japanese-English Dictionary.

Thanks folks . I will probably order a hard copy. I like the idea of scribbling in the margins and highlightin the parts that I think I understand, or am sure I don't. Just a way of increasing that kendo "what should I work on today list"!
