I got word yesterday that Sagawa Hakuo Sensei passed away at the age of 87 yesterday.
He was 9th dan hanshi in Iaido and 7th or 8th dan in Kendo (I found conflicting information about his Kendo grade, so if someone cold correct it....).
I met him at the Nakakura Winter Seminar in Brussels in 2003 and he was great, not only in Kendo or Iaido but also as a person.
