This has probably been posted sometime in the distant past but:

Hayasuburi translates to fast suburi, right?

How fast is "fast"?

hayai means fast/early.

there is no standard.depends on your personal speed and teacher.one of my teachers sometimes tells us to do 50,but not fast, really correct posture and cutting.another times, we do 100++,but like, physical endurance training, who can do more etc.but on this occasion, most people start really bad, because they want to do fast and many.when you really feel your arm will drop down, you start doing them right-using shoulder more.so i dont know which is best.i think all is good

oh from my experience speed counts as well. visiting sensei from japan when they asked as to do haya suburi, they specified normal speed..so im guessing there's fast pace one. In our dojo as well, we do normal speed in normal training, but in all bogu training, we do haya suburi really fast sometimes. Sometimes so fast I cannot keep up with my fastest >< one time I counted 21...and I heard 29-meeeeeeeeeeeeen!! It was super fast !
