I don't think this person should be banned, however important this post might be it is in the wrong section, flames or the lounge would be more appropriate. or perhaps the poster should consider a different forum where they might recieve a more lucretive response.

Just what is a spambot and how can you tell if they are one please? Where do they come from? How do they work? I never heard of that before. :confused:

1. This was not posted by a 'spam bot' (an automated program that generates un-solicited e-mails to a list of recipients)... it couldn't technically post on this forum... it has to interact...

2. This is a valid post but, as has been pointed out, is definitely in the wrong forum section... ADMIN / MODERATOR - Can it be moved to Flames / Lounge...?

3. The Poster is unlikely to have been the originator of the materials... much more likely to be a person just like you or me who has stumbled across this stuff and felt strongly enough to share it in this way.

4. This poster is probably an existing forum participant who, in the lightg of 3. (above) wanted to share this material but didn't want to risk getting banned for it under their own screen-name (maybe some of us have done this as well?).

5. War is sick, war is horrific, war kills fathers, mothers, sons, daughters... War and Death are not beautiful... Peace and Life are beautiful... But in some cases War is Just... but you really do have to have an open mind and examine motives...

6. It is correct ... as Sarah / Commander pointed out... that these threads are viewed by some very young people... and I am increasingly uncomfortable with some of the content and language used in the open forums... I certainly wouldn't want my kids to see the photos in this post without me being with them... I am 47 and I felt very upset... not ashamed to admit that I felt like crying... The open threads need to be more closely moderated.... just move the contentious stuff to an adult threads area with an age limit... not difficult...

It is not particularly difficult to construct a program to join a forum and start a new thread, I am surprised its not more common. They have started to become common in blogs, and most blog software has started implementing defenses against this.

The fact that it sits in the wrong location posted by a poster with only on post is a clue to it being a bot.

I have to disagree, why has the poster not responded to any posts here? They could pop in with a few intelligent lines responding the accusation of being a bot, which would prove it was not a bot posting.

Most of those photos are not just photos with some text explanation; most of them are constructed as posters with slogans. That is what makes it cross the line from just being informational to being propaganda.

This guy has been on more than about 100 forums posting the exact same topic with different names. Either he has alot of time on his hands or is a bot :D.

Btw there are some things that don't need to be shown. In ww2, The Guinea Pig Club were pilots servearly bearned and deformed when there aircraft were hit. For me politics and religion are for debate classes and political meetings not hobby and interest forums like this...
