here is a problem that i haven't read about. i sweat a lot. no it really doesn't stink all that much. i drink ton of water.. and i sweat so much, it's more or less just water.. but problem is my men. after leaving the men on for about 30 min, the men start sliding down. can't help it, it's all wet around where my face makes the contact with men, and it will start sliding.

does anyone have solution for this problem? i guess i could take off men every 15 min or so to dry up and re-tie..

I sweat a lot during practice too and my men does slide down a bit, but that's because I didn't tie it on tight enough. If your men fits you nice and snug then it shouldn't slide down..

wear two tenugui.
should soak up more sweat.
by the way, do you leave puddles of sweat if you stay in one spot too long?
one of the guys i train with does and he has to wear ankle sweat bands.

Some shops sell sweat absorbant pads, they are usually for the chin area, Tozando however sells some sort of balaclava-style hat with bunny ears which I suppose is used to absorb sweat.

Hmm... I sweat a lot during practice as well, but my hair generally serves as a 'front line' defense, and then the tenugui absorbs the rest.

I would suggest wearing two tenugui as well, or investing in some extremely efficent air conditioning.

I sweat like hell during keiko and i cut my hair really really short (almost nothing) so the water is just flooding out like crazy...everytime after practice i dry my men..and 1 day later..u will see bunkle and bunkle of salt crisp on the men.

pete yeah, the puddles are funny until someone in bogu (who cant see much of the floor) ends up on their butt.
it hasnt happened yet as far as i know but i am very wary during summer and around the Puddle Man.

I sweat quite a bit as well and one thing that has helped are these absorbent pads that Lloromannic refers to. I also switch Tenuguis during
practice when I get a chance but I have not had the issue of my men loosening.

I also take the time to wipe down the men with a towel to ensure that it will dry for the next day.

The balaclava-style hat is more for people sensitive to indigo dye but I guess it will work well for the sweat. I think it is more to do with men not being tied enough. Also tenugi can be wron different way-covering ears which would absorb sweat around ear and chin better than normal style.

Ur not serious.....

I can imagine it... Maybe not after a single practice, though. That would require a lot more sweat than a person can produce in one day without refueling at some point.

I don't get your lots problems! Know why?
COS I LIVE IN THE FREEZING FKIN UK! Arse end of the world!
My feet are often numb with cold for about the first 10 minutes.

Sure i sweat in my gi, but certainly not in my men. Tenegui does its job. Its just never seems to be that warm here, no surprise there.

Wow - I thnk many people don't tie their men on hard enough - it shoudl be really tight, almost painfully so. If your men is new, this can hurt your ears until the men becomes flexible enough with age - but seriously, I can't really imagine this much sweat.....

I disagree with that. I had to tie my old 'production line' men very tight, but my new 'costum made', well it's almost like wearing a hat. Tight enough that it doesnt fall, is enough.
If you have to tie it almost painfully tight, you should consider getting a men that fits.
