I've been a very bad boy.

I've now been away from kendo practice for a total of 4 months now.

Can anyone tell me how much it is to renew the BKA membership for this month?

I didn't get the info in the news letter and couldn't find it anywhere on the BKA site.

Gota get back to practice...

Many thanks

Well its £50 for the year (jan-dec), but if you hadn't renewed by the end of january, you get fined, it 'think' its about £10-£15. But you would need to check with your dojo leader, cos we're now into march.
Btw, it IS on the BKA website, just under the 'upcoming events' section (for some reason), its a downloadable pdf.

Hope it helps :ko:

Matt thanks for your help.

Have tried the link but is very slow at opening.

In fact it has been loading up for the past 10 minutes and I have broadband too.

Any ideas?

It's £70 (£20 fine for paying late).
The BKA site opens instantly for, FWIW.

Any ideas?Sorry man, I don't know why. It opens up instantly for me.

Alternately, if you go to the front page of the BKA website, under the Upcoming events heading, below all the links, towards the end of the paragraph beginning, "The BKA membership form...." is the sentence "Fees for membership are as per the fee structure found here (http://www.kendo.org.uk/dojo/bkafees.shtml)."

click on the "here (http://www.kendo.org.uk/dojo/bkafees.shtml)." and this should take you there.

Jakob is right. It looks like £70.00 with the late payment fine. :(

Cheers,

Matt.

Edit. Ah! It looks as though the links may have come through.

I think it could just be my system.

Thanks for your info.

£70?!? That’s almost extortion. :(

Yeah, it is a lot of money. I've never trained in an art that costs this much for membership, as well as the kit you have to buy.
But then, we do have to pay for Mr Honda's experience as he is on the books now. Plus all other events.
Kendo = art for the rich? lol (tongue in cheek, no nasty rpelies please)

Yes you are so true about that.

Honda sensei has to make a living somehow.

I completely agree with you about the price,But! the grading fees are ridiculously low and Honda sensei is worth every penny, no disrespect to all those that have gone before, but he is like a breath of fresh air and such a genuine guy, if you have the chance to practice with him, dont miss it!

Sorry! I thought they were quite low compared to other arts not within Kendo.
