Does anyone know where (or how) I could go about finding kendo clubs in the Kansai region (Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Nara)?

If you are fairly advanced, (1 year or so) There is a practice every night from 1900h on weekdays at the Butokuden (Budo Sports Centre) in Kyoto. There are several clubs who practice there and usually they let you join the practice. You can start from there and ask around because a lot of people who practice there also belong to another Dojo. The folks I met were very kind and helpful. It worked for me.
Good luck

There are more clubs than you could shake a shinai at. You're never far from one almost anywhere. Small clubs in the countryside are my favourite. If there's no club (unusually) you might be able to train at a police station if you play your cards right. Good luck and enjoy!

Thanks, Fonzie!I might check out the place in Kyoto. I live in Suita, so I doubt I'll go more than once. But it'll be a good place to get some leads on places closer to where I live.

You're lucky, and we're all jealous of where you live. Just ask a neighbour or work colleague. Bet there's a dojo just round the corner from you.
