Relax - the Aussies aren't invading. Kristina is working in Austarlia temporarily and is on the Swedish ladies team.

A bit confused...
On the German site it says that the GB Men's team won, but someone else says (and I heard through a friend) that Spain won the Men's team.
Can anyone explain?
Thanks!

How did the GB men and women do?
Mr.Tvola
19th April 2005, 12:05 AM
Results above are not complete are sometimes incorrect.
And also there were more than one fighting spirit awards for each tournament.
Sorry, I don't remember all the results, lets see if they put some on the website www.kendoem2005.ch soon.
My impression is it was great, we saw some really nice matches and nice Kendo, especialy by the French, German, Spanish, Hungarian (and of course many other) kendokas!
Unfortunately we also wintnessed some serious referee errors. To point out the worst one - referees for the mens team finals mistook the sides and awarded ippon to a wrong competitor, it almost decided the whole match.
Organisation was good, there were some last time changes to the schedulle of which we could have been informed sooner, but they handled it ok on place.

Now it seems OK. They just need add the Fighting spirits ....
AFAIK one went to Jindrich Ziegelheim (CZ) for men team (there was one more FS ...), for men induviduals there were 4 awards, one was for Rafal Jastak from Poland and second for A. Solodovnikov from Russia, the others I don't remember...
