Hey, I am new as of ten minutes ago, however, i figured that you guys/girls would be able to help me, I have this senior graduation dinner at my church in a couple of weeks and they want me to have a display of things I like. So now. . . I need a sword display rack, if anybody knows where to find this please let me know thanks.

Hey Okita Soshi :p.

I'm glad to see a fellow Shinsen Gumi lover here. I think you can find 3 sword weapons rack for cheap at some cosplay sites. Naruto ones might have some stuff. I know I saw them somewhere.

You could look at what they look like, and try to replicate it. just a idea.
Peace and Love.

A guy that trains at my dojo in Iaido made a sword rack a few weeks ago. I think he just winged it, though.

I'm not sure if there is an actual 'plan' for building them that you can find anywhere online. I would suggest going to a bunch of sites and looking at the sword racks they sell, using them as reference and then have a go at building one that you like based on your references.

Anyways, I'll be sure to post any information I can get on the subject; I'll ask the man in my dojo that just built his about it.

Goodluck! :D

I made a sword rack over the summer. Check this ebay item out to make the easiest of all of them.

All you need is a router or jigsaw and a couple of planks of pine or what ever. Then cut out the shapes and connect them. THen to make it looke good spraypaint it. If you want it to look even better, before you paint it puddy up the holes where the boards meet eachother. And if you want it to look even better than that ( I know you thinking thats inpossible!) by some felt and stick it in between those grooves where the swords go. I made mine three tiers (kind of like this: http://i6.ebayimg.com/02/i/03/ec/a9/06_2.JPG (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=43335&item=6527720404&rd=1#ebayphotohosting)) with a black coating and red felt. It is wicked awsome :)

even easier is to get a set of antlers, drill the bottom and stick them in a plank of wood....sika deer is best as the tines are nicely balanced...

i'm makiing my own sword rack also. but i'm keeping the design simple so i can make it look good. my advice is to find some pics of some online and just copy them. my idea (copyrighted by me lol) is to have only 2 pieces to mine so i can just hang it. then, one end specifically ofr the handle and one for the blade. one the handle side i'm putting the kanji symbol for life and on the blades side i'm putting the kanji symbol for death

I also love sword display racks. Much cooler than swords. So you are looking for a "sword display rack" rack or do you just want to display "sword display racks"?

lol haihai,

my bad.

I have an iaito and bokken that I will be displaying on the "Sword Rack" or "Katana-Kake".

I did the same thing that the others here suggested; I couldn't find any pattern (after looking for a very short amount of time) so I just looked at some pictures and then drew up a design on some heavy paper, and cut it out to get a feel for how it looked. Then I build it for real. Still kinda ugly, but it works.

Don't put "-san" after your own name, it's not very humble and perceived as kinda rude...

I would suggest making a rack or tachi kake that holds the one sword.

Don't display the bokken as it is only a practice sword. The sword and bokken won't look good together on one stand.
