Well that's it. My instructor has killed off his third nagainata ha-bu in about two weeks. It was quite funny, he was using the one that he had loant me and broke it on a rather scary tsuki. It was scary cause I noticed the whole dang thing bow like mad :D

Of course now we are stuck with only e-bus until replacements arrive. :(

So I guess tomorrow we're working on kata.
Kind of sucks you know? :)

I had a period when I broke several naginata, including the ebu. This happened even when I did not strike to hard. As it occured during the winter I suspected that it had something to do with training with a cold naginata. Now I never do hard training with a cold naginata and I have kept the same habu during this winter (it isn't over, but anyway...). Also, I keep the sendanmaki very soft and try to strike faster without striking harder.

My younger brother Jonathan, is actully in Japan to learn some more about Naginata. If you ask him he may go to Ikebukuro to buy you some ebu and send you by post. You just have to transfer the money on his bank account. Here is is email address :

it's stupid to be stuck because of material.
