What styles of Kenjutsu contributed to the forming of Kendo?:old_man:

the only style that contributed to Kendo from kenjutsu that i know of was Itto Ryu

Shindo Munen Ryu, Onoha Itto Ryu, Hokushin Itto Ryu and many others.

That's not a Kenjutsu Ryu. If you meant HNIR, that isn't anything to do with Nito Ryu, which just means two sword school, and it is a Kendo thing, not a Kenjutsu thing.

Hyoho Niten Ichi Ryu Kenjutsu and Nito Ryu Kendo are not the same.

Anyway, HNIR wasn't involved in the forming of Kendo at all. There was a list given somewhere of all the Ryuha that were represented in our Kata. I forgot which thread though. Sorry. And, I don't have time to look for it right now.
