Has anyone bought shinais from kendoshop?
Particularly musim and kenshin shinais?
What is the quality of these shinais?
And how was the service from kendoshop?

my dojo always buys stuff from kendoshop

i've used(or i've broken i'd rather say perhaps) mostly kendoshop shinais, both mushin and kenshin.
i've tried japanese shinai and they are pretty much the same (break easily too :P)

them kendoshops shinais are made in china, sent from korea.

i've never had problems with kendoshop as for service.

i've never used the two shinais which are mentioned above, but am familiar with budongshim, which kendoshop also has. budongshims have a great balance and is very sturdy. I'm sure this differs with every shinai, but i've had my budongshim for almost a year now with minor maintenance. they're a bit on the expensive side, but are my shinai of choice.

Well...the musim shinai is light but not so well-balanced....but if u wnat to do sharp techniques...u can use it because it is abit slim and flexible. The kenshin shinai is abit more heavier but the balance is not good becos due to manufacturing reasons, the weight is always on the tip......

and if you buy kendoshop shinais mushin/kenshin(or any shinai for that matter, but specially kendoshop's) never ever use it right away.

my friend used one of them kendoshop shinais right away and it was so dry that SHE broke two slats in one go.

i also used one for the first time in taikai without oiling it properly and enough and i literally tore apart a slat in two in the first use.

so they come very very dry it seems. after some days of heavy oiling they seem to behave well.

these shinais come with fittings (leather, string, etc) right?
or do you have to buy them seperate?

Hey Budongshim is $43 + shipping and it's a pretty good one.
Only reason I'm still looking is shipping to US can be very expensive.
All Korean Shinais I know come as completed.

Center only please..
