Man, I am soooooo jealous. I haven't been deep sea fishing in ages. Which port did you leave from and which boat did you take. I might book a trip next time I'm down there. Nice catches, I love frest albacore.

I didn't look at the last picture until I had posted the above. The Producer out of San Diego. Nice looking accommodations inside.

My dojo has been talking about having a halibut fishing trip up here for everyone that wants to come along, but unfortunately no real plans have come into play, yet.

Your trip looked like a lot of fun; I love fishing, and I love eating tuna, so tuna fishing is a good mix in my book.

Halibut fishing up there looks crazy, you guys get those big ass butts up there, 100-150lb halibut is more than I want to catch, But our Yoshida Sensei would like to catch a giant Lingcod to share with his buddy down here,,,hahahaha... next year when we plan our next trip we'll invite you to go..

Nah, misterkurukuru isnt a fisherman, too bad tho, he would of enjoyed it.. the beer, musubi's, takuan..Once there was a time when I could take my little boat solo to the Coronados and put the whack upon the albies and the yellowtail...sigh. You can have some fun up here in the PNW too, but the water is not warm, Coronas are a "specialty beer" and the ocean tries hard to kill you if you don't pay attention.

However, a 20lb King Salmon takes your mind right off of all those other issues.

no boat, no fishing, if i want to get drunk and eat fish, i will just drink some beer at a pub and eat fish and chips.

Now that's just sad. Clubbing your dinner to death and wading through fish blood and guts is quite relaxing.

how come so many of us like fishing as well???? spooky.

signed, a previous chairman of the Durham Flydressers Guild who is still salmon and trout flyfishing....(and is off to watch the Tall Ships Race at Newcastle on Tuesday....on a fishing boat)

p.s. fishing in Japan is rubbish....rivers seem nothing but drainage ditches! and the stuff I threw back as tiddlers were regarded as 'big' fish...

Stream fishing in Japan shouln't be done on Honshu, you need to head to Hokkaido. Japan has a native salmonid similar to Rainbow Trout.

As a fellow fly fisher and tier, what do you usually use and fish for?
