Hopefully, when my naginata eventually arrives I will be able to start training, however I will not always have an oppertunity to face an opponent with a naginata (either in shiai or kata).

Are there any guides for a Kendoka sparring/fighting someone with a naginata?

Is this a chance for the kendoka to practice his shin(suneate) cuts?

I dont know enough.... Please anyone... supply websites, links to buy books.... anything please!!!!! :confused2 :ditsy:

Hi~

I got this old Naginata guide that has some Ken vs Naginata Kata at the back of the book.

Not sure where they come from, but there are 5 Kata, with Naginata as Shidachi in the 5 Kamae.

From what I read, in Kata, Sune Uke (receving?) for the Kendo Uchidachi involves going to gedan and one step back (depands on which leg the cut is going for).

Maybe I can scan in some section of the book later, because I don't really understand some parts too... but too busy right now.
