View Full Version : 45 Japanese kendoka to visit Australia

This subject will probably only be of interest to AUstralians.

During March 2003 there is a visit by 120 Nippon Sports Science University (Nittaidai) students.

45 of them are kendo students.

Thay will hold demonstrations in Melbourne and Sydney of Kendo, Judo, Karate, Shorinji-Kempo, Sumo, Aikido, Naginata and Dentou-Geinou.
DEMONSTRATION TIMES (Free entry)
Melbourne
Wed 12 March 2003
5:00 PM to 7:00PM.
Showcourt 1, Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre,
Aughtie Drive,
Albert Park.

SYDNEY (Free entry)
Saturday 15 March 2003
4:30 PM to 6:30PM
Sydney University Sports and Aquatic Centre
Sydney University
Broadway

All members of the Australian Kendo Renmei have been invited to join in a goodwill Kendo keiko with the Kendo members of the delegation.

(Just off Royal Parade and opposite The University of Melbourne)

Just to add to that, unless there has been a change, there will be a $10 charge to the training at Fudoshin.

$10 charge?!?!?!?.... :eek: ... i wasnt informed about that... :( .... oh well who cares.. once in a life time experience :D .. who cares about the money.... hehhehe :p

the $10 is to cover for the gifts cost, we cant really let them go home without souveniers now cant we.

.. and they all landed safely in sunny Melbourne this morning, along with the 80 other members of the group.

OMG :eek: those Nittaidai guys are COOOOOOOOL.....

The speed!!!!.... OMG.... :eek: SOOOOO QUICK!!!!!! :eek:

oh yeah.. the other performances are really cool... especially the Karate and Kenpo guys..... really opened up my eyes... it really showed me the difference in level with Australia and Japan :o

my first impression when looking at the kendo demonstration," holy....., how the...? is that even...?" the only time I've seen such level of kendo was in videos.
I'm glad I came and saw the demo, even better I'll be training with these guys tomorrow too :D , one thing though I dont think these people are human :eek: they're too fast for human beings, and to think thats only a demonstration....the thought scares me. oh and if you want to see it again drop by me place, I taped parts of it, couldn't take the whole thing.... :(
