So, I'm watching ESPN2 and they have XMA. They are doing forms to music, and it looks more like dance, or I guess Karate with Jazz hands. Can anyone tell me more about why this is done? It's a bit too far from the origins for me.

Entertaining the masses and earning a profit, simple as that.

So, I'm watching ESPN2 and they have XMA. It's disturbing, isn't it?

All it is is people doing stunts with martial arts...nothing more.

You are being politicaly correct by using "a bit", that is perversion itself , i call for an inquisition against the McDojoism in all its forms, always hated there combos anyway. Who's with me.

I remember a guy doing some bo kata to the 'Mortal Komat' theme, and to that song from 'Rocky'.

"Hi, welcome to McDojo, do you want to jump grades with that? Or you can upsize to a dan grade for only $1.99 more..."

McDojo refers to shonky dojos that are basically grading factories without the effort. E-Budo has a nice sub-forum called "Bad Budo" which highlights all that is wrong with some of these places.
