...'sadly'?

I kid, I kid. This calls for a poll no?

Best ST movie: First Contact
Best ST series: Voyager (You wouldn't believe how many fantasies I've had involving Seven of Nine 'assimilating' me...)

Cheer up though, Stargate season nine is on SciFi every friday!

Next Generation is by far the best series...

...but I did love seeing Cpt Kirk get a bloody lip in every episode...it would bleed there even if he got kicked in the groin!!

I'll be Obi Wan to your Grievous and...

Ben: If you strike me down I will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine!

Vader: VerZwish

Luke: Oh my god! you killed Kenobi!

Han: You b@$tards!

piggy
2nd August 2005, 11:35 PM
obi wan only won because hes the main character! and plus, he had to shoot general grevius to death! how lame is that? if general grevius was the star, obi wan wouldve had no chance

Dunno of anyone has seen the animated clones wars series, but General Greivous was much better on that, he went around killing many a jedi and didnt even come close to dying. Of course he couldnt die in that particular series as it was based before the last film, but any way he rules in that one.

Back on subject Captain Kirk was cool just due to the large amount of parodies made of his character in many a comedy series since. like in Family guy 'barefoot you say? Peter your a madman!'...enough of the family guy and sorry for the random post, im going home soon, and then to practice!

If there are any Star Wars Collectors out there, two things:

1. Have you seen Clone Wars Maquettes (Thre Clone Trooper statue rocks!)

2. Side Show Weta/Toy, General Greivous Statue is just amazing.

But General Greivous was very kool, 4 lightsabres at once.

P.S. Yoda just rocks people!

Star Trek rocks! Voyager sucks! The entire crew either had crappy acting so the emotions were poorly executed, or they had none at all. I got hooked on Next Generation, but really liked DS9 the best. The writing was just so good. To keep a good storyline moving and not be able to change locations since it was all based off of a starbase must have been challenging, but they did well for themselves.

As much as Star Wars is cool, Star Trek people deserve a lot of credit for keeping up with quality scifi for sooo many episodes. I am doubtful that Star Wars would have been able to do the same. So movie versus tv series is difficult to compare, but after the original Star Wars movies, I lost much interest in it. Star Trek has kept me a fan, as long as I black out anything that has to do with Voyager.

I got hooked on Next Generation[snip]I was a big fan of Next Generation back when it first ran. Not a trekkie, but a big fan. I thought it was really good writing and I'd nary miss an episode. I still like it when Patrick Stewart pops up here and there. But, I'm afraid to watch them again now that I'm older and a little more discerning. I think I'd think the lot was crap.

I didn't like anything after Next Gen.

Star trek the original (no Star trek character can beat Cpt "ladies man" Kirk and his crew)
DS9 (most of the characters were great including Quark)
Next generation (Jean Luc was more of an intelectual cpt compared to Jim)
Voyager (Mr Paris was cool, 7 was the only character which had a real female treky uniform since the original series :D)

Come on guys, how can you compare Star Wars to Star Trek, the first one is more of a fantasy and sci-fi mix while the second is purely sci-fi, you'll never hear characters in Star Wars discussing physics theories...etc

piggy

You are all fools! Mace Windu and Darth Maul...(Okay, the former was a joke but the latter is serious...Maul was T3H PWN4G3!) Just...I dunno...Sam Jackson didn't strike me as someone that belonged in the SW Universe.

Man, The next generation and Voyager were equally good in my book. You just had such a great cast in the next generation, Data kicking ass on a regular basis. And you had so many great episodes where they go for a storybook adventure on the holodeck only to accidently screw up the space-time continuum in the process. Or how about that episode where Riker, Geordie and Data land on a planet and end up in a holo simulation of Casino Royale and Data gets them out by beating the house. And who doesn't like a good Klingon episode with that evil dude from candyman playing worfs brother... KAPLA!!!!!!

Voyager was good too, though I must admit that janeway was really hard to like... she just seemed a bit, froggy. I don't know why, but thats just the best word I can think of to describe her. By far, the best character is the doctor. He has the best lines. The whole spin on the idea in Voyager is a good one, and the tension between the crew is really well done.

Enterprise just sucked.

The only reason people have this star trek/wars beef is because they start with the same word. Otherwise they have NOTHING TO DO WITH EACH OTHER. Star Wars is awesome too but for different things. If I want to see big boom boom bang bang CG CG boom bang I'll see Star Wars. If I want to think 'damn! thats clever!' I watch Star Trek.

I love the timeless arguments of what if you took ships from Star wars and Star Trek... who would win?

I mean the death star just kicks butt, but the enterprize would crush an Imperial star destroyer... etc etc etc

I miss pointless arguments like those from when I was back in high school.... :)

piggy
3rd August 2005, 11:25 AM
well duh the enterprise can beat a star destroyer. they couldnt even shoot down the mellenium falcon!

^ a joke. and in voyager, seven of nine is not hot! shes mean and cold! but general grevius....hes hot...

the species thats green, has a guitar pick shaped head, large black eyes, commonly say "we come in peace..."

klingons are so moody and gruff. what i look for in a lover is sensitivity, compassion...

Gen Grevious was a way cool concept poorly executed on screen. If you recall the Darth Maul Final sequence, it was all shot wide angle for the greater part. Few real tight close ups. However with general Grevious we get this crap, all close in shots and him going roto-rooter on Kenobi. What the heck? That really ruined the fight I think. Then a big ol chase ending in a silly little fight. That whole stupid chase scene should have been taken out and replaced with a epic lightsaber fight.

As far as Star Trek Vrs Star Wars.. .. http://www.spacebattles.com/ Here ya go.

And as far as Star Trek being over with .. thats ok, it was getting really repetitive anyway. Oh gee look, time travel.. er.. super enemy.. er.. holo deck malfuction.. .. er.. the shields are down... .. whoops captian is in trouble for breaking the rules again. LoL ok .. .. its been 20 years .. WE GET IT.. .. lol

And besides, we have Battlestar Galactica now on SciFi every friday night. oh yea baby !!

Ronin055, i pity you lol, Battlestar Galatica, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!!!, yeh the borg are good but Klingons are just futuristic Samurai/Agressive/Evil etc that mkaes thgem very unqiue and kool. With borg it's like oh look at me i can repair myself but i have an IQ of 0.5.

The most exciting thing they do is change up their shield frequencies.

Now the Cardassians - they're some evil, um, villians. "There...are...four...lights!"

The borg are awesome! And who is cool because he brought them along.... Q!!! I hated his character so much. He was always obnoxious and mischievious. I love his character because he was acted out so well, but I hated him because of the type of villian that he was. Does that make sense, he was such a well played character so that was awesome, but he just frustrated the hell out of me. I've never read about or watched a character like that in any media before. That is what makes him cool.

Assimilation is boring. That's all these guys do - go around assimilating and changing their shield frequencies. You can't spell BORING without BORG.

I think they could have dragged Voyager on a bit longer, it ended really abruptly. But now we have the new Battlestar Galactica to watch, and I have to say in terms of plot, tension, character development etc, it pwns Star Trek - WOOOOOOOOO!!!!
