This christmas XBOX 360 hits the selves in Decmber, while people who are loyal to Playstation will have to wait a little longer. Have a little look on:

www.gameplay.co.uk (http://www.gameplay.co.uk/)
www.game.uk.com (http://www.game.uk.com/)

and in your opinion which console you will be buying.

Why the hell are they comming out with new consoles already? Does anyone actually feel like buying a new console every few years?

Great fear in this one lies.

Get back to me six months after they've all come out. I don't get interested based on physical appearance, I have to get used to the personality first . . . :)

Man, I've been trying to erradicate games from my life. Too many hours wasted playing Rome Total War!!! Or Soul Calibre 2!

I am most excited about the revolution. The revolution seems like the kind of system that will bring new kinds of games to the market as opposed to the other two that just seem like sexy upgrades. I think I'll eventually get the other two, but I wouldn't mind getting the Revolution upon release.

Now I personally been buying and playing PS and PC games mostly. I'm just wondering what's the differences between PS and xbox. Now I never played on a xbox before, that's why I wanna know. I still don't know what it is that made ran so fast when I saw a xbox in the store... maybe it was just another Microcrap product or maybe it's just something the console itself that freaks me out. I dunno... so someone tell me maybe I have a different view on the xbox besides the fact I really want to play Ninja Gaiden (beat all the old ones just like every gamer), still I hestitate to touch one, it's just weird...

I vote PS3, because when they bring out Gran Turismo for PS3 it'll be damm good!

But I'll buy an XBox 360 in addition as well, love that PC connectivity.

To me the biggest difference is that the xbox comes with "The evil plan to take over distribution and handling of all digital media"(TM)(R)(C) by Microsoft, undisputed masters of making utter crap OS'es. Bah! I fŕrt in their géneral dirécion! ;)

If I'll buy a nextgenconsole, it wont be till at least a year after it's released... (yeah, I have a pretty tight budget, plus I don't game THAT much...)
SoI'll just wait for a while and see wich one looks better then.

btw, nintendo is making a next gen too you know, only I forgot the name...

The Nintendo Revolution, the reason i didn't add it was because nearly every nintendo console goes down in reputation very quickly.

I agree with you the prices of consoles are a crazy amount, but i think i will still get it when it comes out. Halo 3, thats goin to be really good especially with online capabilites.

Where's the option for both? I picked the ps3 just because Sony owns my soul.

As long as Square-Enix continues to make the main Final Fantasy games for sony, they will have my undying loyalty. The PS3 will out shine the competition in sheer gaming power, but cost an arm and a leg. It will be cheaper for me to buy my own set of bogu.

If you compare the stats, Xbox outshon Ps2 by loads. Live, 4 (read it, 4) controllers, Nvidia chip...

Xbox may be made my Microsoft, but it has kick ass for power!!! Think of Sony Ps2 as a samurai, and think of Xbox as massive super gigawatt gundam model v.1.25.3!!!

Ninja Gaiden = Hours of gaming frustration *Stupid giant electric worms! Why won't you die????*

I'm not going to lie, the XBox does out power the PS2. However, the power of the PS3 will run circles around the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Revolution combined, just read up on the hardware specs. But in the end it doesn't matter what you have inside the console, it's the games. So my preference is still Playstation, hands down.

the difference between a ps and xbox is xbox is basically a big, clunky overrated (basically) small computer that has virtually no good games for it and is a really nice paper weight. also, the controllers for xbox are terrible. the ps is much better because it has alot better games for it. when it comes down to it, would you rather sit through hours of unplayable game movies with good graphics on an xbox or get down to the action with a ps?

microsoft has the same mentality as they always have with the xbox. "lets put out a lot of bad games and half hearted attempts at technology because we know that people loyal to microsoft will buy this garbage"

alot of the games you can get for xbox you can get for pc or ps anyway. but if you have a hole burning in your pocket and you have to get rid of alot of money. go for it. buy the xbox. but dont think i didnt warn you...

im going to wait a long time for the ps3 to go down in price. basically, the ps3 is just a gaming computer. its so advanced, it can read your thoughts and change the game accordingly. but yes, i'm an extremely loyal playstation fan because of sony's quality.

I resent that comment, come on Halo 2!!!!, Fable!!. Two awesome games, well i had to play Halo 2 for abit to make a better opinion it maybe short of levels only 15 but still a brilliant game, Fable just rocks the socks of any RPG out there, this game has so many options it's great. XBOX 360 pulls down the boundary of Online Playing, XBOX Live is now free to all who own the new console, and to mkae even better they have now added Video Cam to XBOX Live.

PS3, there is only one game i like Tekken 5 that really looks good but apart from that nothing really exciting on the PS3.

It's all a matter of preference as to which system has better games. Halo is certainly an amazing game, and I'm certain that Halo 2 is good too although I haven't played it. But FPS were meant to be played on a PC. It is without question that the XBOX has a better online system than playstation...but again, if I want to play online, I'm gonna use a PC. Seriously, the xbox is pretty much a PC trying to be a console, not that that's a bad thing...but it is to me.

But the DEFINITIVE rpg console is the playstation. In my opinion most north american RPGS tend to suck it hard core. I didn't really like Fable and I think the reason why is because they made it TOO open, and lacked any real direction or story. The only RPG's that I have heard good things about are Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, and Jade Empire (which I am dying to play), but the PS1 and 2 have amazing RPGS coming out the yin yang: Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Xenogears and Xenosaga, Shadow Hearts, Grandia, Wild Arms, Dragon Warrior, Arc the Lad, Legend of Lufia, Vagrant Story, Chrono Cross, .hack, Breath of Fire, Dark Cloud, Disgaea, Full Metal Alchemist, Legaia, the SaGa's, Star Ocean, Tales of Symphonia, Summoner and so many many more than I can't possibly think of.

And for the nextGen consoles, you can't really tell how good the games are because they barely have a list together. But from what they already have lined up, Playstation will still get my money: Final Fantasy (which maybe ported to other systems), Devil May Cry 4, Tekken 5, Ninja Gaiden 2, Resident Evil 5, Spider-man (again, probably will be ported), and you just know that they will make a God of War game for the PS3 since Kratos owns.

and to mkae even better they have now added Video Cam to XBOX Live.

haha! and you know what kind of great quality videos you'll be watching while trying to play halo?

sorry... but i couldnt resist that. when i got socom two for the ps2, i couldnt tell you how many little kids got thier moms to buy it for them and i couldnt play a decent game without a cuss-fest from a couple of shrill voiced pre-pubecent 12 year olds. i just dont like the online games xbox has to offer. halo is just about it but even then, that would get tiring after a while. ps2 has a ton of online FPS games and alot of the war-based ones are excellent.

plus im a die-hard silent hill fan so i could never betray the sony playstation. resident evil doesnt do much for me either. its rediculous that you get very little ammo and the zombies wont even die. and zombies arent that origional anyway....

sooo.....

i think this has gone on long enough. to finish it, i will quote a well known character from silent hill 3 "the world is teeming with unnecisary game consoles. only by playing the playstation will you find salvation." ~claudia.

^pretty lame huh?

noooooooo!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! *Head explodes due to amount of critisism to xbox*

I admit, Ps2 has some amazing games,
looks cool, is light, has MORE games and is the trademark of gaming, next to nintendo.

BUT

Has anybody everplayed DOA Ultimate, or Ninja Gaiden, or Halo 2, or Amped 2, or Fable? All of these games are a tribute to how great the Xbox is! I'm not saying Ps2 isnt good, I'm just saying appreciate how amazing these games look and play, among others!

Undoubtedly, both of the new consoles will have ups and downs, but depending on your source, you will see that they all have biased opinions. Microsoft says Xbox 360 will blow the opposition out of the water. Sony says the same about Ps3.

Don't be biased and have an adapting few of the gaming behemoths!

Plus, Ninja Gaiden 2 (also known as Ninja Gaiden Black) is on Xbox 360, as is Final Fantasy and a variety of others.

Remember, Xbox was a console born fresh, not from a line of consoles that have had many years to perfect and refine their games! (Final Fantasy, Tekken anyone?)

Remember, Xbox was a console born fresh, not from a line of consoles that have had many years to perfect and refine their games!

true but it was born from microsoft who has had alot of time to observe and has much developing experience as well. and i'm pretty sure i played ninja gaiden on ps2.

i dont think xbox360 stands a chance against ps3. the ps2 has been out for so many years and the xbox is somewhat new with new technology and its still debatable which system is better. microsoft had all those years to build a better system and they still failed so NYA!!! microsoft has been loosing money with the xbox production anyway so at some point, shareholders will have had enough and xbox will be gone forever.

oh and okori, that list of "good" games you gave us for the xbox, the playstation has about 68 times that many good games. the only people who like xbox are microsoft propaganda munchers. loyal to microsoft to the end. i'm fine with that but fact is, ps3 will be incomperable.

Lol, and I have no doubt that Xbox will milk all their "original" games for all that they are worth. And as for Ninja Gaiden 2 aka Ninja Gaiden Black, that is indeed for the Xbox, however I meant the nextGen Ninja Gaiden game which has not yet been confirmed or denied for the PS3, got my facts a little mixed up.

My comments about games are clearly biased, however my comments on the consoles themselves are based purely on facts. If you check out www.ign.com (http://www.ign.com) you can find hardware specs for both the PS3 (http://ps3.ign.com/articles/636/636848p1.html) and the Xbox 360 (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/613/613616p1.html)....and maybe the Nintendo Revolution somewhere too.

But as always, it's just a matter of preference.

PS. Final Fantasy being ported to nextGen systems is only rumour at this point. And so far the only FF games released to other systems have been FFXI and FFCC, which are largely NOT considered true FF games by FF fans.

I believe you are incorrect, the head of Square Enix (i think thats how it's spelt), went to E3 and said that FF is coming on the XBOX 360.

and FF Fans say that the other FF games which were imported on other systems were not true FF Games, well if the game title adds FF on the front it is a true FF Game no matter what the actual game is like :confused2

I stand down to this barrage of reason...

I cannot say that I am not biased though. Thinking back now, the only reason I can see why I back the xbox is because I own one! :P

I do think the console industry will definetly be a Sony orientated world though...

Must make a future investment!

PS3 all the way, the XBOX is but a PC "clone", microsoft doesn't understand the console world and they were pretty lucky that people took to playing FPS with a gamepad.

Damnit Musashi, you are indeed correct. I hadn't read that announcement when I had last posted. Technically, anything with FF on it is an FF game, but final fantasy elitists are fickle creatures.

On another note, I originaly voted PS3, but after reading about the new Nintendo revolution controllers, I'd like to change my answer to Nintendo. With all the twist, tumble and swinging technology, it opens up an entire new dimension in video gaming,.....and dare I say it, possibly a kendo video game.
