Yesterday at Kendo practice, I was hitting the dummy to learn speed. I was hitting with speed and power. I was using the dojo's shinai. Then I hit the side of the "homemade dummy" which was wood and broke the shinai, what should I do?

What do you mean broke the shinai? is it a splinter? or is it completely broken. Well in any case you should obviously tell the dojo. Its rude if you dont. and if they find out that you broke it, and you didnt tell them, expect a lot of ignorance on you for a couple years. hahahaha just joshing unless that really happened. But seroiusly tell your dojo, a shinai breaking isnt that much of a big deal.

Tell your dojo about it. They can assess the damage and determine whether or not to replace it. Own up to it and don't go putting it back and not telling anyone about it. That's extremely rude adn dangerous.

Shinai break. It happens. Offer to replace it. Then get your own. But don't sweat it.

You should inform your sensei or sempai and offer a replacement or something. If the damage is not great, they might just let you go.

replace it with a better one, not the same quality or a worse one...

apologize and offer to pay for the damage would most likely be the best solution. shinais break all the time. if you dont have one already, buy yourself a few or invest your money in a carbon one...

Yes and to cover up the evidence I suggest burying it in a safe unmarked grave.

Not a big deal. Just tell them and offer to pay for it.
