Has anyone had problems with their skin after starting kendo? To be more specific, I mean are there some sort of rashes that you seem to notice? I dont mean on their foot where the blisters are. I mean around the fist, arm , upper thigh areas. Let me know .

Could be your Kendogi or Hakama. Try washing them a dozen times. Remember don't dry them in the dryer but hang them to dry. And it helps to hang them folded and soak them with a hose, then let them dry. That will keep the folds real nice.

It might even be lymphoma (threw that in for the hypochondriacs out there).

An EMT is a paramedic Smarty!!!...and that qualifies one to treat injury victims and other acute patients just long enough to get them to a hospital - where real doctors take over.
Otto, you're getting a bad reputation pretty early aren't you?

Flylkorean, I just read this thread after posting the other. It seems that you also have problem with your fist and arm, you might want to look into your kote too. Do you air your bogu everytime after practice? It is important to air it at none moist area or bacteria and fungy will grow in your bogu.

What do you mean by airing the bogu? I sort of unpack it and leave it in my room after practice. Is that considered airing it or should it leave it outside?

Well, what you did is called airing, but then it also depends on area. Is the window in your room always close? I'm actually looking at different countries here. Over here is humid and hot, so I have just enough vandilation to air my bogu. Maybe you can leave your bogu under the sun for 5 to 10 minutes once a month, no direct sun please. I used to use surgical spirit to wipe the bogu area that gets sweat the most. Surgical spirit can be found in pharmacies. But I gave up on that because I've found out that the air here is enough to dry my bogu and surgical spirit might remove the dye from the bogu too. Oh, for kote, you can get those clothe gloves from any kendo equipment shops. It is one of the way to keep your sweat from soaking into the kote and you can wash the gloves often. Hope this helps. :)

Thanks Miravil. I think I first need to find moisture/air related equipment. By the way, do you know by chance where I can find a " allows to breathe " kote? I know I saw this on a website before, but I cant recall anymore where it was from....
