Hi,
Does anybody know if there is actually an anime/manga that is about kendo, or at least has kendo in it?

There are many threads on here about that on here. Just type Kendo manga in the search bar and lots of threads will show up.

I know there is an episode of Midori Days where Seiji is chopping up vegetables and screams something along the lines of "Men! Men! Kote! Doh!"
I was giddy...

Bamboo Blade is pretty cool and is pretty much all about kendo but it kinda... takes the coolness out of it. I saw a few episodes and it seems really girl-oriented. Still... it has kendo and that is more than you can find anywhere else. The first episode of Gate Keepers has a pretty funny kendo part also.

I wish I knew, the detail/style is a bit more realistic looking than Bamboo Blade, not that the latter isn't an enjoyable watch/read.

It kind of looks like Kaze to Ken. That's a pretty cool kendo Manga.

There's a Bleach "filler" episode 133 i think that features Kendo. Just go to YouTube and type "Bleach 133". unless someone can post a link from youtube I always have difficulty doing that from that site for some reason.

It's not really Kendo, but the anime Shigurui is really good. Shigurui is kind of depressing and has a slow pace but I think it captures some philosophical concepts of budo; really a masterpiece. Not for the young and those susceptable to negativity.

there also is an anime called Afro Samurai.
it plays on all the stereotypes of what the lumpen western masses think that samurais and japanese men/women are like. it is interesting. also very gorey so be warned. the main character is as the title suggests, a Black person, with a big afro.
this will probably appeal to those who first came to kendo by having grandeurs of being a modern day musashi. certainly the atmosphere is very different from bamboo blade.

i really like bamboo blade, i'm in my teen years, so i assume i'd find it more enjoyable than many older kendokas, but, although it is pretty girl oriented, i still really like the show. I watch the episodes on You Tube. Actually what i LIKE about is that it shows kendo in a much more fun manor. Getting caught up in the forums and hard training you can forget how fun kendo is! Bamboo Blade does a good job of displaying kendo in a not so serious manner, very nice for younger kendoka.

While looking for the manga Kaze to Ken (another kendo manga that has been briefly talked about on here), I found a website where you can download manga for a small price. It's all in Japanese and I haven't looked at exactly how it works just yet, but it's another option to consider once the content of the site is sorted through. One thing is for sure, doing online readings with the website are pretty much impossible as I couldn't get the software stuff to load. And it also only seems to work in IE or Firefox so the cool people with opera will have to bear with the IE for a bit.
Here (http://www.ebookjapan.jp/shop/search.asp?range=all&string=%95%97%82%C6%8C%95) is the link.

Okay, I apologize in advance with the double post, but here is what I found from using the website again.
I tried downloading the software stuff again and it installed perfectly. You are able to read the first 17 pages of each manga for free before they tell you that you need to buy it. Maybe you can just use the normal picture viewing software on your computer after you download the full copy, but I don't know about that. Either way, the most important thing is that I got things working, though I will have to go through the other stuff at a later date.
