Large men trouble...

I am currently renting my bogu from the Fed. because,... well obiviously I don't have enough money for my own set. My men is far too large for my head. I have stuff extra tenugui in there and tied as tight as I can. But it still shifts down. I almost got knocked out as a result of this. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

use a head protector that is put on the top inside part of the men. it's cheap. like 5$ if you buy in kendo shop.

also, fill the chin part with extra pads made of soft cloth or other tenugui.

that's what i do and it works fine.

If you don't have access to a "proper" men pad, make your own out of closed cell foam. You can get cheap closed-cell foam camping mattresses for around $10, each one could make dozens of pads.
